Classes are offered in Residence or as a Hybrid option. Students interested in the Hybrid classes must meet the requirements of passing the entrance exam with a score of 26 or better. In addition, students must live 70 miles or greater from the campus. Students enrolled in the Hybrid program will be required to complete all laboratory procedures in residence. All students are required to complete numerous classroom quizzes, laboratory procedures, hands on positioning, and homework assignments. Additionally, students will be required to take and pass the mid-term and final exams and show proficiency in positioning and back office medical skills. Hybrid courses are attended at the same time as those attending in residence.
Library services, tutoring and job placement assistance are available for all students.
Program Opportunities
Radiologic Technology is a health care profession whose practitioners work in hospitals, imaging centers, and private physicians’ offices. The radiologic technologist
(radiographer) is a member of the health care team who works directly with the patient and the physician performing a wide variety of diagnostic x-ray procedures. The role of the graduate radiographer may be that of staff radiographer, special imaging radiographer, supervisor, administrator or educator, depending upon the level of education and experience obtained.
Admission Requirements
Those applying for the RT program must possess a High School Diploma, High School Equivalency, or GED to be considered eligible for admission to the programs offered by the Medical Career College of Northern California. All applicants are required to take and pass the school’s entrance exam, the Wonderlic, with a minimum score of 23 and the Spatial Acuity Test with a minimum score of 6. Those interested in enrolling in the hybrid program must score a minimum of 23 on the Wonderlic.
Graduation Requirements
Students must complete all areas of the program with a cumulative GPA of 75% or better and satisfactorily complete the externship in an approved facility. In addition, students must satisfy all financial obligations to the school to receive their AS Degree.
How To Enroll
Prospective students can contact the Medical Career College by phone, email, or in person, if they would like to inquire about enrollment. Students are encouraged to make an appointment to come in to interview with the School’s Admissions Director and tour the school. Once a decision has been made, the prospective student is given the school’s entrance exams. Upon passing the exams, students are required to complete the enrollment packet and pay a registration fee of $225.00 and an assessment fee of $20.00.
